Life is a series of next steps. Should I get married? Should I change jobs? Should I reconnect with my family?
Should I start going to church again?
We want to help you take the next step in your journey.
A crowd of people who were interested in learning more about Jesus listened to Peter, one of Jesus' followers as he spoke to them. He informed them of the miracles that Jesus performed. He spoke of Jesus' death on the cross. He spoke of his resurrection from the dead. After hearing all of these things the crowd asked this question: "What should we do?"
This is Peter's response to the crowd then, and to us now:
"Each of you must repent of your sins and turn to God, and be baptized in the name of Jesus Christ for the forgiveness of your sins." Acts 2:38
To repent is to turn from your old way of doing things. To change your mind...to change the direction of your life. This means that we admit that our way of doing things is insufficient. On our own we will fail-but if we turn to Jesus we can have a new life. A new perspective...a new purpose and direction for our lives.
When we do this-we ask God to forgive us of the mistakes we've made.
Then-we become followers of Jesus...
Baptism symbolizes our having been dead and buried in our sin and then being resurrected and saved from the consequences of that sin.
Therefore-we at CCC encourage anyone who has repented of their sins and decides to follow Jesus to take the next step and be baptized.
For us-this is time of celebration! We encourage you to invite your family and friends to witness this special occasion. The day you are baptized can serve as a significant moment in your life where what has already happened inside of you as a result of your repentance-becomes outwardly displayed for the world to see!
"For we died and were buried with Christ by baptism. And just as Christ was raised from the dead by the glorious power of the Father, now we also may live new lives." -Romans 6:4
